What is ISPI pro bono consulting?

Pro bono (for the good) consulting is done for free for the organization that receives the consulting services. Consultants donate their time and professional expertise and ISPI covers all other related costs such as travel and accommodations, operating the system that makes all this work possible and staff needed to manage it.

Can I as a donor decide what non-profit organization should be supported?

As a donor you can make suggestions that ISPI will certainly do its best to honor. Still the final decision depends on finding a good match between consultants and non-profits. In single cases this might be difficult or ineffective to implement.  We will do our best.

Where does my money go?

Your donation provides discretionary support for pro bono consulting for non-profits.

The money will for example go into:

  • Travel and accommodation costs of consulting projects
  • Developing a screening system to select consultants
  • Building a platform that matches the needs of specific non-profit organizations with the expertise and the availability of experts
  • Setting-up systems that market the idea and inform non-profits about these opportunities
  • Hiring staff to manage and operate the complete system
  • Other activities that will be necessary to enable ISPI to build a professional system to provide pro bono consulting for non-profits

What do I get as donor?

  • You will be honored in ISPI’s annual report on pro bono work.
  • Depending on the size of your donation, you will be entered into the ISPI Hall of Fame for pro bono consulting.
  • You will receive in-depth reports on the pro bono projects.
  • You will be invited to participate in the annual presentation of projects.
  • ISPI Hall of Fame donors will have a dinner with the ISPI president, consultants who did project work, and leaders of the non-profits that received the services.
  • Our personal guarantee all consultant costs for travel, lodging, and food are based on IRS industry and location per diem standards.
